Be it in Afghanistan under the Taliban, in Islamist Iran or in Sudan, from where reports of gender-specific violence have not ceased since the RSF, a paramilitary and Islamic group, attempted to take power in mid-April 2023. However, many events on this year's day of feminist struggle focused on solidarity with Palestine. Other global conflicts hardly played a role on 8 March. How come? What gaps are there in the Western (feminist) left? We talked about these questions and more with Dastan Jasim. She is a political scientist and Doctoral Fellow at the German Institute for Global and local Studies.
