Global Day of CommemorAction for the Dead, Missing and Forcefully Disappeared at Sea and at the Borders - Oranienplatz (Kreuzberg) - Berlin

Let's gather on Monday February 6 to denounce the violence death of the world's border regimes and to demand truth, justice and reparation for victims of migration and their families. We would like to invite you to join us to the CommemorAction at Oranienplatz at 6pm on Monday 06.02.2023 With the term "CommemorAction" we make a double promise: That of not forgetting those who lost their lives. And that of fighting against the regime that killed them. We invite you to memorize the human beings we missed and lost at the borders because of the European policies and practice. On February 6, 2014, 15 people died and others disappeared while trying to reach the Spanish coast. In February 2020, relatives and activists gathered in Oujda (Morocco), Tunis, Zarzis Marseille, Milan, Palermo, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, Hamburg, and many other cities to organize the first great transnational Commemoraction. On this occasion, the date of February 6 was chosen as a symbolic date to organize events in all countries of the world against the militarization of borders and for freedom of movement. Year after year, we witness the ongoing massacres at the borders and in the detention facilities built to discourage the departure of migrants. We cannot forget these victims. We will not remain silent. We are also witnessing increasingly violent offensives against people of immigrant background in Europe: in France, a new bill wants to multiply detention centers and extend the regime of tracking down and criminalizing immigrant status. Let's mobilize, let's organize for the freedom of movement and the freedom to settle in dignity!
