 On January 23rd 2020 it is again time for the VBA reading group! This time we will be reading Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paolo Freire.

The book is about the role of education in the (self)liberation of people and views education as a reciprocal process, a dialogue in stead of lectures. The author has developed this view and has put it into action with cane-sugar workers in Brazil. He has been in jail for doing this for two years.  The practical side of the reading group will stay the same in the new decade as they were before: the reading group will start at 19:#0 in the NieuwLand, but if you want to join us for dinner you're welcome around 18:30! Everything is vegan, and it is nice if you could let us know beforehand if you're joining for dinner so we'll prepare enough.
